The DailyBot alternative that writes the standup instead of collecting it
DailyBot asks each person its questions across four chat platforms and compiles the answers, with the AI summaries on a higher tier. Troopr forms its own view of the team from real Jira, GitHub and Slack activity, writes each update itself, and proposes the ticket changes the owner confirms in one tap.
Free for 10 seats, standups included. No credit card, no annual commitment.
Trusted by 600+ engineering teams worldwide
DailyBot is built wide: check-ins, automations, forms, kudos and recognition across Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat and Discord. Troopr is built for one job, the Slack-and-Jira coordination workflow, running the issue lifecycle both ways in the channel with a confirmation step before anything is written. Every feature, on every plan, including Free.
Two-way thread sync, comments and attachments in both directions
The standup drafts itself from real Jira and GitHub activity
Confirm before write: the owner taps Confirm, the change runs as them
Free for 10 seats with the AI included, not held back for a higher tier
Breadth across chat, or depth on the work
A check-in bot asks. It does not know. That gap is what an engineering team feels by week six.
The standup that writes itself
Troopr drafts each person's update from their own Jira and GitHub activity, including what the diffs actually changed, and posts it to the channel. It asks someone directly only when it genuinely cannot tell what they are working on. Nobody answers a DM full of questions, and nobody writes a status from memory.
The thread becomes a working surface
A compiled report sits next to the board rather than correcting it. In Troopr, replies become Jira comments, Jira comments come back, and files move both ways. A channel can be paired with a Jira project, and people without a Jira licence still take part.
Reports and nudges, built in
Burndown, velocity and any JQL you like, posted to the channel on a schedule with the action buttons attached. Stale and overdue issues get a nudge aimed at the one person who can move them. The board gets worked on a cadence, not just reported on each morning.
Confirmed writes, not a collected answer
Every Jira change Troopr proposes goes to whoever owns the work, gets revalidated against live Jira the moment they confirm, and runs under their own login. If it stopped being true while it sat there, it says so instead of writing.

DailyBot capabilities and pricing verified against dailybot.com billing documentation and product pages, 12 October 2026. "Not documented" means DailyBot's own materials do not describe the capability; it is not a claim the behaviour is impossible, and we will change any row DailyBot documents. Troopr capabilities per Troopr product documentation.
Summarising answers, or forming a view
Both products put AI on the standup. The question is what it has to work with.
AI over what was submitted
DailyBot's AI summaries read the check-ins people wrote and pull out the themes, which is genuinely useful and saves a manager reading twelve updates. It is also where the ceiling is: a summary of self-reported answers inherits whatever those answers missed, and the feature sits on the Advanced tier at $5 per active user rather than on the free plan.
AI over what actually happened
Troopr reads the work before anyone is asked. Issues, transitions, comments, pull requests and commits, including what the diffs changed, so a vague commit message does not hide real work. It knows what moved since yesterday, which claims the data supports or contradicts, and what is genuinely new rather than already tracked. All of it is on the free plan.
What it looks like at scale

Snowflake's engineering teams run async Check-ins in Slack with Jira context compiled into the report, instead of context-switching to a status call.

Netflix runs distributed engineering on hosted Jira. Their internal security team cleared Troopr before rollout, which is usually the longest part of any adoption.

Built to clear your security review
The privacy posture is a precondition of the product, not a later add-on. It's what makes an AI-native model safe to put in front of your team and your auditors.
- No training on customer data. Your work never trains a model.
- No storage of raw messages. Troopr derives and persists a structured set of facts about how your team works, not the raw firehose.
- Clear scope. Team channels, connected work tools, and a person's own shared activity. Troopr does not read other people's private DMs.
- OAuth and Jira permissions. Troopr authenticates via OAuth and never bypasses your Jira project, issue, or field permissions.
Troopr vs DailyBot, answered
As of 12 October 2026, Starter is free, Essentials is $3 per active user per month, Advanced is $5 per active user per month and is where the AI summaries sit, and Enterprise is custom. Billing counts anyone who took part in a check-in, sent a kudo, used a command or signed in to the web in the last 30 days. Annual plans commit seats for the year, and paid trials are granted on request. Check their pricing page before deciding, since this moves.
For engineering teams on Jira, yes, and it is a different operating model rather than a cheaper clone. DailyBot asks each person what they did. Troopr reads what they did and writes the update, then proposes the ticket changes that follow for the owner to confirm. For kudos, forms and recognition across four chat platforms, DailyBot is the broader product.
No. Troopr runs team mood as one of its five check-in types, and the rest of the product is spent on the engineering coordination job: the standup, the ceremonies, the Jira work and the follow-up.
Sign up with email or Google, point Troopr at a channel or a Jira project, and turn on the standup. Nothing has to be migrated. Troopr builds its view from the activity already sitting in Jira, GitHub and your channels, and a one-time backfill of recent history means the first report is grounded rather than empty.
Run the coordination, keep the board accurate
Stop asking people to type what the tools already know. Add the two-way sync, the scheduled reports, the nudges and the standup that writes itself from what actually shipped. In Slack and MS Teams. See it on your team in minutes.
